Charlotte Code Camp Presentation

Posted by Brian Gough on May 16, 2010

Saturday 15th was the Charlotte Code Camp, and it was a great success!  We had over 370 people register, and last I heard, we had over 200 during one session.

We had 10 tracks running covering content from helping with your job, to SQL, .Net and of course SharePoint.  I was very pleasantly surprised to see so many show up for my SharePoint preso, especially since SharePoint Saturday Charlotte was just a few weeks ago, and SharePoint Saturday DC was on Saturday as well.

I gave a presentation on the options available for learning SharePoint 2010 Development.  I had a great turn out, but unfortunately ran a bit over.  <blushes>

I was impressed with the enthusiasm in the room.  The attendees were there to learn about training options for developing SP2010 solutions, but when I polled the class, 90% had yet to even see SharePoint 2010!  Doh!  So I spent some time showing, very briefly, the new UI and the Developer Dashboard in 2010, before showing off VS 2010 by making and deploying a very simple workflow.

I apologize again to the attendees for getting my ending time wrong and not being able to show as much as I would have liked.

Here is a link to my presentation for you all. –

If you have any troubles accessing this, please post a comment for me and I will address it.

Thank you all for the great reviews and feedback!!

See you around the community!

Backseat driving with Michael Gannotti!

Posted by Brian Gough on April 30, 2009

I had the opportunity to hang out with Michael Gannotti at the Microsoft Connections conference in Charlotte. While we were solving the world’s problems via SharePoint, we decided to throw a curve into his usual Backseat Driving videos and actually BE in the backseat!

Dan Lewis and I both got give a quick little talk while Michael Chauffeured us around. It was great time, and I hope the attendees appreciated the content and got a lot out of the conference.

Here is the video in case you care….

Thanks for the ride Mike!! See you at SharePoint Saturday!!

Posted by Brian Gough on February 28, 2009

Ahhhh…. spring is in the air. The trees are blooming, the cardinals are returning, and the geeks are gathering! Time for another Code Camp!!
The Enterprise Developers Guild is getting geared up for our latest day of FREE training and presentations ( and food of course! ).
Camp will be held on March 28th. Check out the site for more information –

I will be giving a couple of presentations, most likely. One on the mobile capabilities of SharePoint and I am going to couple that with the new Microsoft Tag technologies. . Some really coo technology to use for smart phones. I great way to get your web site, CV, audio files or whatever else, on to folks smart phones quickly and easily.

Pretty cool stuff!

I may also be presenting on how to make your SharePoint site a bit more secure leveraging SharePoint designer and its Administrative features.

Make it if you can. It’s always a good time and filled with great content!!

See you there!
